Christmas Songs: Where they came from week 2

I keep forgetting to do this................ -_-

Do you Hear What I Hear?

I love this song!! :D
The Frenchman, and Amercan: Noel Regney, met in a busy city, and eventually teamed up to write a Christmas song. Noel was a classical composer who forced into the Nazi army during world war 1. He escaped France, and joined the resistance. Later in the 1950's he wandered into New York's Beverly hotel, and saw a woman playing playing the piano. They became friends, and a month later, he knew English. After that, they got married. Gloria wanted to write rock and roll, while Noel wanted to write Classical. During the second world war, Noel was tired of the deaths, and his mind wandered to images of newly born lambs. He began to write and once done, he gave it to Gloria, telling her to write music to the words. He went to a recording industry, and asked to have it recorded and put out in an album. Since Noel couldn't sing and play the piano he asked Gloria to play. But she had another date to attend too, so he went by himself. Later, she asked how it went and he said he botched it up.
They thought it would never get published, but, days later, the recording industry said they had plans to put it out as a single. Thousands of people loved the song, and Gloria and Noel were overjoyed but shocked.

This song is played for millions every year.

Said the night wind to the little lamb,
"Do you see what I see?
Way up in the sky, little lamb,
Do you see what I see?
A star, a star, dancing in the night
With a tail as big as a kite,
With a tail as big as a kite."

Said the little lamb to the shepherd boy,
"Do you hear what I hear?
Ringing through the sky, shepherd boy,
Do you hear what I hear?
A song, a song high above the trees
With a voice as big as the sea,
With a voice as big as the sea."

Said the shepherd boy to the mighty king,
"Do you know what I know?
In your palace warm, mighty king,
Do you know what I know?
A Child, a Child shivers in the cold--
Let us bring him silver and gold,
Let us bring him silver and gold."

Said the king to the people everywhere,
"Listen to what I say!
Pray for peace, people, everywhere,
Listen to what I say!
The Child, the Child sleeping in the night
He will bring us goodness and light,
He will bring us goodness and light."
